Mexico orders Vulcan Materials Co. to shutdown last limestone mine operating in Quintana Roo, aggravating existing dispute

The Mexican government has ordered Vulcan Materials Co. (Vulcan) to cease its underwater extraction operations at its SAC-TUN subsidiary (formerly Calizas Industriales del Carmen, S.A. de C.V.) in the state of Quintana Roo, citing alleged environmental damage by mining operations carried out under the water table.
