Australia – UK FTA rejects investor-state dispute settlement in favour of state-to-state dispute settlement

On 17 June 2021, the governments of the United Kingdom and Australia finally reached an Agreement in Principle concerning the Free Trade Agreement they have been negotiating since June 2020. Five negotiation rounds were necessary to reach the agreement.
