As meaningful trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) gains momentum, will its dispute settlement protocol keep pace?

On 10 October 2022,  the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) announced that they had signed a memorandum of understanding to maximise the trade, investment and development opportunities among African countries.
