The Argentine Government places energy distribution company EDESUR under compulsory supervision as it considers its nationalisation

In the midst of the wave of protests occurring in response to massive power cuts in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA), capital of Argentina, and its suburbs in recent months, the Argentine government has seized “compulsory control and supervision” of the company Empresa Distribuidora Sur Sociedad Anónima (EDESUR S.A) for a period of 180 days. The government did so through Resolution 307/2023 of the National Electricity Regulatory Entity (ENRE) of March 20.
