Centerra Gold introduces new claims in arbitration proceedings against the Kyrgyz Government to protect its assets at Kumtor Gold Mine

On 7 July 2021, Canadian-based gold mining company Centerra Gold Inc. (“Centerra”) and its wholly owned subsidiary, Kumtor Gold Company (“Kumtor”) introduced new claims to the arbitration proceedings they initiated against the Kyrgyz government on 16 May 2021 in an effort to prevent further steps from being taken to nationalise the Kumtor gold mine.
