South African Court enforces foreign company’s €2.75 million international arbitration award against local company

A party’s attempt to set off an unproven claim in unrelated proceedings against an arbitral award ought to have no bearing on the finality or enforceability of the arbitral award and does not accord with the spirit of the UNCITRAL Model Law as adopted in South Africa.
