Australian Federal Court rejects Spain's claim of sovereign immunity as basis for not recognising arbitral award as order of court in landmark judgment

In a judgment delivered on 1 February 2021, the Full Court of the Federal Court of Australia (FCA) held that the Kingdom of Spain (Spain) could not rely on sovereign immunity to resist the recognition of an arbitral award.
