Who is the President of Venezuela and who controls roughly half of the Republic of Venezuela’s considerable gold reserves, valued at some $1.95 billion?

These questions lay at the heart of the case before the High Court of Justice of England and Wales (Business and Property Courts), which handed down its decision in Deutsche Bank AG (London Branch) v Central Bank Of Venezuela on 29 July 2022.
